This primary source ia a congressional record, it’s a offcial report and it explaines what had happened in the U.S. House of Representatives. In these records it expreses how congress memebers are expressing their thought on making immigration laws stricter. As they expressed their thoughts they had talked about them punishing smugglers, also stopping “catching and relase” ect, they had thoughts about these types of things because when a few immigrants had been caught from the border they had been able to be released and have a chance to attend a court date.

Their are a few speeches they have expressed lawmaker were having different opinions. Their were a few people that have mention having stricter law that had to be needed for them being able to be safe and protecte the country and the borders. But their were others who had other opinons and were more worried that the changes they have talked about were going to have a bigger impact on immigrant communites and also have a few issues with immigration. overall they are able to show first-hand work that the congress has been expressing their thoughts on immigration laws in 2006.
